  • Oversees implementation of the City budget as directed by the Mayor
  • Investigates legislative issues and coordinates agenda with Mayor for City Council meetings
  • Acts as Zoning Administrator in reviewing and approving commercial or residential building permits and zoning matters
  • Acts as Liquor Administrator in reviewing establishments for conformance
  • Supervises City staff and oversees the Public Works department
  • Negotiates contracts for various City services
  • Plans, assists, and monitors committee meetings
  • Interacts with residents on matters of concern and ordinance issues
  • Maintains working relations with members of City Council and the Mayor
  • Works with developers and private sector businesses to ensure conformance with City Ordinances and Zoning Code
  • Calculates project costs and lists with appropriate committees for budgeting purposes

General Duties: 
  • Authors ordinances and other legalities as needed.
  • Calculates annual budget and property tax rates and implements or bills as required.
  • Attends City Council meetings to record & maintain minutes and agendas.
  • Researches, authors, and edits the City’s newsletter, The Eagle’s View.
  • Maintains and researches as necessitated health, dental, general liability, building, and fleet insurances.
  • Advises Mayor and City Administrator on financial and legal responsibilities, annual legislative changes, and annual GAAP and GASB updates.
  • Negotiates rates of returns on investments.
  • Performs daily, monthly, and annual accounting duties including those related to the audit process and any corresponding financial reports.
  • Partners with the Kenton County Fiscal Court for information regarding domiciled or transient businesses and related business taxes.
  • Designs and maintains the City website
  • Handles citizen concerns and delegates or cooperates with other employees and municipal agencies to resolve
  • Explores training opportunities for staff.
  • Investigates, coordinates, and provides support for recreational activities.

Interests:
C.R. takes pleasure in singing and has sung in bands, musicals, quartets, choral groups and even karaoke.
C.R. also enjoys participating in or watching sports of all sorts including: golf, all levels of baseball, pro and collegiate football, semi-professional hockey, NASCAR, and collegiate basketball.

General Duties: 
  • Oversees and implements permanent and temporary record systems
  • Maintains, indexes, and organizes City records in paper and electronic format
  • Prepares business, intergovernmental, and meeting correspondence and informational packets
  • Handles building and zoning requests, correspondence, and permits as well as Board of Adjustment requests
  • Prints tax bills, receives, and posts payments, and monitors real estate tax collection
  • Receives, date stamps, and distributes mail
  • Deposits incoming receipts
  • Represents the City in the Kenton County Dog Authority
  • Notarizes items for the City and residents
  • Posts complaints from citizens and begins resolvation process
  • Coordinates sign ups for recreational events
  • Responds to citizens, vendors, developers, and other government officials via telephone and fax and directs inquiries to appropriate departments
  • Substitutes for City Clerk at council and other meetings when required
  • Assists where needed in meetings and recreational activities
  • Assists City Administrator when needed
