OLD BUSINESS

A. Engineering

Mr. Berling reported briefly on various projects throughout the City. The cul-de-sac on Calumet Court will be replaced starting on Monday the 13th. Notices will be sent to those residents affected by the construction and the Police Authority will be notified that cars will have to park on the street until the construction is complete. It is estimated that the project will take a total of two weeks; one for the resurfacing and one to cure.

The sidewalk on Turkeyfoot Rd. will be started Monday the 20th and will run from Mall Rd. to just past College Park Drive.

Striping has been completed on Horsebranch Rd. where resurfacing had taken place in front of the Grandview Summit complex.

The bidder that won the contract for Turkeyfoot Rd and Calumet Ct. happen to be the same contractor for both. It is Heitker General Construction from Cold Spring with bids of $17,000 for Calumet Ct. and $21,528 for Turkeyfoot Rd. sidewalk.

Mr. Sommerkamp wanted to point out that he thought the sidewalk on Woodspoint Drive looked great and wanted to suggest to council that the City provide for landscaping at the entrance of Thomas More Parkway and Turkeyfoot Rd. Even though it is private property, Mr. Sommerkamp felt that the City should landscape it with trees, bushes and seasonal flowers. Ms. Draud commented that it would be taken under consideration as the third entryway project in the City.

B. Law

Mr. Wehrman read the header for Ordinance 1997-9-4 which establishes the rate for the collection of property taxes. Accepted on a motion by Mr. Laird, seconded by Mr. Sommerkamp.
