NEW
BUSINESS
A. 1st
Reading of Ordinance #2002-9-1 – to set the real estate property tax rate for
calendar year 2002
- Mr. Laird reported that the
committee has decided on a rate of .1525 per $100 valuation. The rate is the same as last years
rate. It was decided that since costs
held pretty steady for the year and budget was maintained, the rate should stay
the same. Council agreed unanimously to
accept this as first reading of the Ordinance.
B. Sexually Oriented Businesses –
Mayor Meier presented to Council a request for funds to support a joint study
by most Northern Kentucky Cities of the current ordinances and zoning as
relates to recently passed legislation regarding Adult Oriented Businesses in
the area. The cost to the City is
estimated at around $650. Mr. Laird
suggested that cost should not exceed $1500.
Mr.
Mando explained that some definition of community must be decided. Campbell County does not have countywide
zoning. Some Campbell County cities
zoning may stand. Some zoning may need
changes in Kenton and Campbell. The
study will assist with determination of these issues.
