In the first combined meeting of the Old Crestview Hills group and the College Park group, many residents met foremost to air concerns in their respective neighborhoods.  The conversations were lively with Robin Huller, Janet Buhr, Kevin Celarek, and Chief Paul Herbst serving as moderators.  The interactions among the City Staff, Police, and residents proved noteworthy as many suggestions were made.
Discussion centered on recent incidents of speeding, vandalism, and groups of adolescents noisily congregating
Chief Herbst addressed the group with the following reminders:

  • The Police are monitoring the aforementioned situations
  • More citations are being issued for speeding  in subdivisions and over night parking between the hours of 3 AM and 6 AM
  • More citations are also being issued for running or not coming to a complete stop at signed intersections
  • Residents should feel comfortable calling police at any time there is suspicious activity, strangers lurking, or a problem with neighborhood noise.  You may reach the Police Authority at 331-5368 from 8 AM to 4 PM, or 356-3191 after these hours, or through the Emergency system at 9-1-1
  • Residents may call the Police Authority to watch homes when traveling or out of town
  • Do not try to resolve a highly-charged conflict by yourself.  Instead, call the Police and allow them to resolve the situation.  For instance, do not confront a burglar or a group of troublemakers.
  • Very importantly, please be courteous of your neighbors.  Just remember, if it is something of which you would disapprove, then it is NOT proper to subject your neighbor to the same treatment.
The next meeting has not been scheduled at this time, however, please watch the Community Recorder and the next newsletter for exact date and time.  The location is the City Building.
When residents actively participate, communities stay healthy, beautiful, and vibrant  !
