Right of Way Encroachment Permit

Performing Work on the Public Right-of-Way

Effective January 1, 2019, new regulations become effective within the City of Crestview Hills to perform any work on a City of Crestview Hills controlled public right-of-way.

Registration Required 

In accordance with Ordinance 2018-11-01, any party who owns, installs, operates, constructs, or maintains any facility within any public right-of-way controlled by the Crestview Hills shall file a registration application (along all pertinent information required by Ordinance 2018-11-01) and pay the required $15 registration fee to the City of Crestview Hills.

Thereafter, before any party may own, install, operate, construct, or maintain any facility within City of Crestview Hills controlled public right-of-way shall first file a registration application (along with all pertinent information required by Ordinance 2018-11-01) and pay the required $15 registration fee to the City of Crestview Hills.

Please note, only the entity that owns or operates the facility in the City of Crestview Hills must complete the registration process with the City. Contractors performing work on behalf of a utility or company that owns or operates a facility in the City are not required to be registered with the City.

Encroachment Permit Required

In accordance with Ordinance 2018-11-01, except for those activities authorized to be performed without a permit, a City of Crestview Hills Encroachment Permit shall be obtained in order to excavate, dig, cut, bore, or tunnel into, through or under any paved street surface, curb, sidewalk, sod, or apron within the public right-of-way controlled by the City of Crestview Hills. An Encroachment permit is required to perform any construction, installation, repair, replacement, or maintenance of facilities in the City right-of-way or temporarily occupy public right-of-way controlled by the City of Crestview Hills.

Encroachment Permits for non-emergency work shall be applied for at least ten (10) days in advance of the planned activity that requires an Encroachment Permit.

In the case of emergency work (as defined by Ordinance 2018-11-01), the responsible party shall apply for an Encroachment Permit within three (3) days after the discovery of the emergency.
